Liverpool’s Jota is out until after the international break

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota will be sidelined until after the November international break due to a rib injury, manager Arne Slot has confirmed., reports Football Scores Today.

The Portugal international sustained the injury during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea on October 20, following a collision with defender Tosin Adarabioyo. Jota has already missed two games and has not yet resumed training.

The 27-year-old will be unavailable for at least the next four matches across all competitions, with the international break set to take place from November 11-19.

“Conor [Bradley] is back in training, so he could potentially be part of the squad for Wednesday’s game against Brighton in the Carabao Cup,” Slot said. “But Jota, Alisson, Harvey Elliott, and Federico [Chiesa] are still out.”

When asked if Jota might return before the break, Slot responded: “No, it will be after that, the same goes for Elliott.”

Liverpool face Brighton again at Anfield this Saturday in the Premier League, followed by a Champions League fixture at home against Bayer Leverkusen, and a match against Aston Villa before the international window.

The Reds will return to action on November 24 with an away trip to newly promoted Southampton.

Goalkeeper Alisson has been absent for the past two weeks due to a hamstring injury, while Elliott is recovering from a fractured foot.

Chiesa, who joined Liverpool from Juventus during the summer, has had a limited impact so far, featuring just three times this season due to injuries.
