Arteta takes blame as Arsenal knocked out of EFL Cup

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed disappointment after his team was eliminated from the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. Arsenal were defeated 3-1 by West Ham after Arteta made six changes to his starting lineup, with Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and captain Martin Odegaard sitting on the bench.

“I’m quite disappointed. Manchester United also exited the competition after losing to Newcastle United at Old Trafford. Goals from replacements Miguel Almiron and Lewis Hall in the first half were followed by a solo effort from Joe Willock on the hour to give the visitors a 3-0 win.

Newcastle will go to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea, who defeated Blackburn 2-0 in the fourth round.
