Arsenal have signed goalkeeper Kepa from Chelsea for £5 million.

Arsenal have officially secured the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea in a deal worth £5 million, reports Football Scores Today.

The 30-year-old joins the Gunners on a three-year contract after an impressive loan spell at Bournemouth last season, where he made 35 appearances across all competitions.

“I’m really, really happy to be here – excited and looking forward to what’s ahead,” said Kepa. “When I spoke to Mikel [Arteta] and Inaki [Cana], the ambition and desire to win they showed me was incredible. I believe we’re close to achieving something special, and hopefully, together, we can make it happen.”

Kepa, who remains the most expensive goalkeeper in football history following his £71m move to Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, brings a wealth of experience and silverware with him. During his time at Stamford Bridge, he featured in 163 matches and was part of the squads that won the Champions League, Europa League, and Club World Cup.

He also enjoyed a successful loan stint at Real Madrid during the 2023-24 season, contributing to their La Liga and Champions League triumphs.

At Arsenal, Kepa will provide strong competition for fellow Spaniard David Raya. His signing comes after the club opted not to make a permanent move for Brazilian keeper Neto, who was on loan from Bournemouth during the 2024-25 season.
