Liverpool have seen a £50m proposal for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh turned down as they continue their efforts to strengthen their attacking options.
The 22-year-old Gambia international has established himself as an important player for Brighton, registering 10 goals and nine assists in 73 appearances for the Seagulls.
Minteh joined Brighton from Newcastle in 2024 in a deal worth £30m. The winger mainly operates on the right side and is currently recovering from a leg injury picked up during a friendly against Roma earlier this month.
Liverpool’s priority for the remainder of the transfer window is to add greater depth to their wide attacking positions following the departure of Mohamed Salah. The Reds are expected to explore several possibilities before the window closes.

Liverpool Continue Search for Attacking Reinforcements
Liverpool have already strengthened their forward line this summer by signing Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £34m.
Munoz offers versatility, with the ability to operate both as a winger and through the centre, giving the Reds another option in attack.
However, Liverpool are still looking for further reinforcements, with Minteh emerging as one of the players under consideration.
Brighton’s rejection of the £50m bid means Liverpool would need to make an improved proposal if they decide to pursue the Gambia international further.
Barcola Remains a Liverpool Priority
Despite their interest in Minteh, Liverpool’s attention remains focused on Paris St-Germain winger Bradley Barcola.
The 23-year-old France international is reportedly open to a move to Anfield, but negotiations are currently complicated by the difference between the two clubs’ valuations.
PSG are believed to want a fee of around £145m for Barcola, while Liverpool would prefer to reach an agreement closer to £100m.
With a significant gap still separating the two sides, Liverpool are continuing to assess their alternatives in the transfer market.
