Manchester United have made it clear that Bruno Fernandes is not available for transfer, with the club prepared to turn down any approach for their captain before next month’s transfer deadline.
Several European clubs have reportedly been considering moves for the Portugal international. Galatasaray are among those interested, while Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan have also been assessing whether to test United’s determination to retain the midfielder.
Galatasaray were believed to be preparing a proposal that could have reached €50m (£42.7m) in total. However, the message coming from senior figures at Old Trafford is that such an offer would not change United’s position.
The club’s stance is notably different from last summer. At that time, Fernandes was allowed to decide whether he wanted to accept a substantial proposal from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. The midfielder subsequently admitted that the situation had left him feeling hurt.
This time, Manchester United have taken a much firmer approach. Club sources indicate that Fernandes has not received any bids so far, but their position is that he is not for sale at any price.

Fernandes Contract Situation
Fernandes, 31, has one year remaining on his current Manchester United contract, with the club holding an option to extend it for another season.
The midfielder is understood to favour remaining at Old Trafford, although there has yet to be an agreement over a new contract.
A £57m release clause previously included in his deal has now expired, giving United greater control over his immediate future.
Despite the absence of a long-term extension, the club’s current position is unequivocal: Fernandes remains a central part of their plans.
United Supporters Want Fernandes to Stay
Fernandes’ popularity among Manchester United supporters was evident during last week’s pre-season meeting with Leeds in Dublin.
The captain received a hugely positive reception from the travelling fans, underlining the connection he has developed with the club’s supporters.
That response is unlikely to have gone unnoticed by United’s hierarchy. The club will be aware that allowing Fernandes to leave without demonstrating a genuine effort to retain him could trigger a significant reaction from the fanbase.
His influence on the pitch further explains why United are unwilling to consider offers.
Fernandes produced an outstanding campaign last season, registering a Premier League-record 21 assists. His performances have also made him a leading contender for the PFA Player of the Year award for 2025-26.
With the transfer deadline approaching, interest from Galatasaray, Juventus and AC Milan could continue, but Manchester United’s message remains clear: Bruno Fernandes is considered untouchable, and the club have no intention of selling their captain.
